Recently, Christina Aguilera made a music video for her latest single “Your Body,” a song from her new seventh studio album Lotus. In the video, Ms. Aguilera not only dances provocatively in scantily clad clothing, but also has intimate, sexual encounters with three men and kills each of them in the end. That explains why there was the following warning, "No men were harmed in the making of this video," in the beginning of the video. For instance, after her first encounter, she gleefully blew up the car she and a guy hooked up in, sporting a scandalous and revealing “F—k the paparazzi” shirt.

Although “Your Body” has a catchy, fun beat to it, you simply cannot ignore its sexually overcharged lyrics, which bluntly state Aguilera’s desire for hooking up with a random stranger:

 "(Hey boy)
I don't need to know where you've been,
All I need to know is you and no need for talking. (hey boy)
So don't even tell me your name,
All I need to know is whose place,
   And let's get walkin'.

All I wanna do is love your body.
   Ooooh oooh oooh oooh.
Tonight's your lucky night, I know you want me.
   Ooooh oooh oooh oooh."

(Note: Ms. Aguilera had to put in the word “love” in her song, so it could play on the radio.)

Simply stated, both these lyrics and Aguilera's music video reflect today’s dating culture in America, which consists of misapplying the gift of marriage to meaningless one night stands that lack true commitment and real love. Also, they both convey how third-wave feminism has molded women to become sexually forward with men and “love” men simply for their bodies.

It’s unfortunate to see talented artists who have children, like Christina Aguilera, stoop to such a low moral level to please their fans and Hollywood. Talent does not need to be canvassed with immoral undertones in order to be appealing. Talent truly is appreciated when the artist has self-respect.

Is this a return to the days of Stripped, when “Dirrty” was the song that shocked the air waves? Looks like the days of her classy comeback with Back to Basics are over.

So she's old news that has to sell out harder and harder to get attention. I don't think this video is necessarily destroying marriage, the divorce rate, unwed birth rates, and other domestic issues have been destroying it long before Aguilera hit the scene. She's a symptom, not the problem. IMHO Well written piece though, you make a good point about the content of the video being a sign of how the contemporary woman has been conditioned to think.

This is a great piece for young girls and (even boys) to read. We need more brave in your generation to stand against this kind of filth and deny its influence. Thank you for your time and effort to stem the tide.
