Although “Your Body” has a catchy, fun beat to it, you simply cannot ignore its sexually overcharged lyrics, which bluntly state Aguilera’s desire for hooking up with a random stranger:
Simply stated, both these lyrics and Aguilera's music video reflect today’s dating culture in America, which consists of misapplying the gift of marriage to meaningless one night stands that lack true commitment and real love. Also, they both convey how third-wave feminism has molded women to become sexually forward with men and “love” men simply for their bodies.
It’s unfortunate to see talented artists who have children, like Christina Aguilera, stoop to such a low moral level to please their fans and Hollywood. Talent does not need to be canvassed with immoral undertones in order to be appealing. Talent truly is appreciated when the artist has self-respect.
Is this a return to the days of Stripped, when “Dirrty” was the song that shocked the air waves? Looks like the days of her classy comeback with Back to Basics are over.
